HELP ME PASS ON SUPPORT & HOPE FOR A BRIGHT FUTURE
TO OTHER CHILD CANCER VICTIMS!

Hi!  I am Laurel Dortch, Zyla and Griffin's cousin.  I am 12 years old and a six year cancer survivor.  I am an honor student.  I enjoy field hockey, volleyball and swim team.  I began The Laurel Foundation to pass on love and help to child cancer victims, their families and to fund research for a cure.  TLF is a registered 501(c)3 not-for-profit public charity, tax ID # 20-5178914.  To learn more about our work, go to www.thelaurelfoundation.com.

I am determined to fight childhood cancer.  YOU CAN HELP.  At the 2011 Barbecue on the River, 22-24 September, The River City Rib Ticklers are sponsoring TLF.  Come enjoy some mighty tasty food!  Volunteers are needed to staff our booth.    Aunt Terri is the bookkeeper.  She'll pencil you into the volunteer schedule and thankfully accept checks made out to The Laurel Foundation.  Together we can make a greater difference than our individual efforts!  Helping others is the best work of life!

PUT A SONG IN YOUR SOUL AND A SMILE ON A CHILD!

Laurel Dortch’s journey with Cancer:

In December of 2004, five year old Laurel Dortch was diagnosed with a childhood cancer.  After a horrific year of treatment, she has remained cancer free.  In the process, she saw so many kids in her situation.  She wanted to do something to help them.  So, The Laurel Foundation was born.  The mission of The Laurel Foundation is to promote awareness and raise funds for childhood cancer.  More than 97% of all donations are given out to various institutions involved in both research and treatment of this devastating disease.

The current beneficiaries are:

♥Camp Quality Kentucky      (campqualitykentucky.com)
*week long camping for child cancer patients and survivors;
♥CureSearch   (CureSearch.org)
*a network connecting child cancer units, doctors and research scientists in North America and overseas;
♥Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky
*They have a pediatric oncology unit and are developing a new  hematology/oncology unit.

These organizations helped Laurel through her tough times.  They are dependent on donations to continue and expand their good works.

Please join Laurel's campaign to pass along to others hope for a bright future and support.
